2009-09-15

EuP Directive refers to eco-design requirement for energy-consuming products which aims to decrease its effect on environment. Products involved should fulfill the requirement in due time, otherwise it could not enter EU market.

EuP Directive affects manufacture’s research greatly. It requires to consider its effect on environment before product design. Requirements are as follows:

_Product design

_ Energy efficiency

_Harmful material

 _Product lifecycle, etc

EuP Directive 2005/32/EC has been issued on EU’s official bulletin in Jul 2005 and EU requires its members to transfer to their own laws before Aug 11,2007.

Energy consumption control for electronic and electrical products when standby or power off was issued in Dec 2008 and will take effect from 2009. More measures will be launched soon.
